Blast off! Habanero hot sauce that is easy and delicious

This hot sauce is quite potent but is loaded with fresh flavor (hints of citrus). This brightly colored concoction is a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, vegetables, or even crackers.

Note: A recommendation would be to wear powder-free non-latex gloves while preparing to avoid skin contact with the chilies.


  • 1 cup carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch coins
  • 1/2 cup white onion cut into 1/2 inch dice
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 6 habanero chilies
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar (plus more to taste)


  1. Place all carrots, onion, garlic, chilies, and salt into a blender and blend until smooth. Gradually add the vinegar until you reach the desired consistency . You may wish to add more vinegar if you like a less thick sauce.
  2. Pour into a clean jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
