Hudson Valley Restaurant Week: Have you made reservations?

Kevin Zraly, American wine educator and founder of Windows on the World Wine School, and Josh Kroner, chef and owner of The Terrapin Restaurant, Bistro & Bar, housed in Rhinebeck’s beautifully renovated “First Baptist Church,” and Terrapin Catering in Staatsburg, NY, have been named to the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week Advisory Board.

“We are delighted to have these two extremely talented colleagues join the board,” says Janet Crawshaw, organizer of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and publisher of The Valley Table magazine. “Kevin Zraly literally wrote the book on wine, and his vast knowledge complements our current roster of chefs and restaurateurs perfectly. And Josh Kroner’s innovative approach to New American cuisine has made him one of the region’s most successful chefs—he brings a new dimension and depth to the board.”

The fifth annual Hudson Valley Restaurant Week 2011, scheduled for March 14-27, will include two full weekends. In 2010, the event attracted 200,000 diners to 141 participating restaurants in six counties. This year, participating restaurants will offer three-course prix-fixe dinners at $28 and three-course lunches at $20.

Other members of the Advisory Board include Vincent Barcelona of Harvest on Hudson in Hastings; Nick Citera of Cosimo’s Restaurant Group; John Crabtree of Crabtree’s Kittle House in Mt. Kisco; Susan Crocker of Backyard Bistro in Montgomery; Agnes Devereaux of The Village Tearoom in New Paltz; Cathryn Fadde of Cathryn’s Tuscan Grille in Cold Spring; Eric Gabrynowicz of Restaurant North in Armonk; and Peter Kelly of Xaviars Restaurant Group.

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is presented by The Valley Table magazine. Major sponsors are WHUD, American Express, Dutchess County Tourism, Westchester County Tourism, JetBlue, and The Gold Standard.
