How many times have you cracked into a hard boiled egg only to find it rubbery or even a little green around the yolk? Well no more of that.
To cook the perfect hard boiled egg, simply put eggs into the bottom of a sauce pan allowing room for movement. Cover with cool water to just about two inches above the eggs. Bring the pot to a boil, remove the pot from the heat and cover for 9 minutes (for large or extra large eggs).
Using a slotted spoon, place the eggs into an ice bath. This is simply a bowl of water filled with a generous amount of ice. Once the eggs have cooled, put them in a bowl and into the refrigerator. The eggs will keep for about one week.
